Strange. I found it in the 1961 catalog on this site.

I would have to say it comes down to how badly you want it. I've done some crazy things to get stuff that I really want. If they are as rare as you say, and you want one then it's a no brainier to me. I'd be on the road.   :D. It looks complete and has the paperwork. It is a 1961 1-ST657.

I emailed an inquiry and received a reply that he thinks it has been claimed and he will know for sure by Wednesday. Hopefully one of you guys is getting it. I really don't want to pay to have it shipped to me.

Wanted / Power Light Jewel
« on: November 01, 2018, 09:32:59 PM »
My Sylvania console is missing the little plastic jewel that the power on light shines through on the front. I'm assuming that this is unobtanium, but thought that I would put it out there.

Also, just to be clear Bill, I have a Sylvania Maestro, but not this exact model. Mine doesn't have the reel to reel in it. I do have the Dual 1019 though.

Thanks, Steve! It is actually a photo I found online, but mine looks just like it! I'll take a photo of my actual one at some point.

It sounds awesome! The sealed speaker system is great. It's nice to have both my favorite FM and AM stations at the same time. I totally agree that someone needs to pick this up ASAP. Although I'm happy with the two that I have now, there is no way that I wouldn't go get that one for free.

It's definitely a Sylvania Maestro series.  Absolute top of the line with separate power amplifier. I have one and the lid and the tuner are the giveaways.  Separate knobs for FM and AM tuning.  Ampex 1100 reel-to-reel.  It should also have a Dual 1019 record changer with magnetic cartridge. I certainly recommend picking it up for free!  Pronto!  I found it in the 1966 Sylvania brochure. It's an SC193C.

I'm sure that the consoles are indeed fabulous. I'm just not interested in spending the amount of money that they are worth. I'll be spending some money on the Dual 1019 in my Sylvania and getting the Zenith amp, tuner and reel to reel rebuilt.

I drove down to Tualatin about a month ago to pick up a 1968 Sylvania SC315W console. I think that I have the two that I'm going to keep in my possession now.

I'm dangerously close.  Too close...
