They are asking $475 to start. Supposedly it all works.

Seller said they would consider offers but we would be too far apart to even make an offer. They saw the one sell on ebay because they told me that is where they got their pricing from. I checked it out later and it went for almost $2300. Never mind that it was restored and gone through, never mind that they included shipping to anywhere for that price, never mind that ebay is an auction site with a world wide audience. etc. etc. So they decided to go $500 higher and let you talk them down I guess.

Local seller asking $2800. Pics are no good so I posted this link of one that sold on ebay. cabinet looks the same. Hers has a Reel to Reel in it. Crazy prices? She should not try to copy pricing from ebay when it is not realistic to do so. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Mid-century-modern-Stereo-console-Telefunken-Teak-Record-player-Tube-Radio-Hifi/282991639660?hash=item41e39dbc6c:g:HUgAAOSwJslbEiUw

I'm just curious what this is and what it may be worth. Pretty sure solid state. The word "transistor" is on the front of the tuner. Any ideas? I've had trouble loading pictures in the past here. Help?

The speakers were not that heavy for the size. No name on back, just two flathead screws for speaker terminals. The turntable was a Garrard RC88/4. There was a receiver put in the cabinet. They wanted to leave it with the cabinet and not sell it separately. I guess they thought it would add value. Pioneer SX-636. $375 for all but the speakers. Speakers priced separately, didn't really pay attention, wasn't interested.

Well you never know, The turntable could be a Thorens 124 and the speakers could be some kind of Altecs. If I was in the area on sale day I don't think it would be a waste of time to check it out anyway. But a long shot maybe.

Well they added that there is no receiver or inner workings except a non working turntable.

Or the high end components have been removed leaving just an empty cabinet.

The big mystery console. I'm trying to contact the seller for some more info. So far no response. It probably is a custom cabinet for whatever components someone wished to have installed. That could be very good, or not so much.

I'm trying to find out more about this console before the sale. I might have to show up to find out. Just putting it out here in case there are any ideas. Seller calls it Dunbar which is the cabinet maker I assume.

That's what I figured, $200 min. for sure to about $300. The one that bought it however after renting a van and driving all the way down from St Louis may have just gotten an average deal after all.

I think there's one for sale in Milwaukee that works and has a remote with it and price has dropped to $400. Its listed on this website.

Hello all, I was the seller of this piece and a new member of the forum here.  No I didn't have a clue its value and yes I do now. I guess I was underpriced for the reasons mentioned. This is also my first time visiting this site where much knowledge resides. I really didn't know they were so collectible and I didn't know Danish from Spanish. I will be looking. I'm always looking for great audio and may even one day own and use a console myself.

To revolverone: At the time the buyer asked if it was still available, I had not received a response from you after I replied that it was. You also stated you were seriously interested in that initial email. The lesson here may be in the choice of words. If you said you wanted it, that would have meant more than being interested and I think you probably would be the new owner today. (not trying to rub it in) :) I do understand your dilemma not thinking you could make it work out though.

I'll be looking, they are kind a kind of rare status symbol from days gone by and the top models are naturally the rarest.
I got my Ampex from the same neighborhood the Maggie was in. A very old upper class neighborhood that when estate sales come up I'll be there.
