Motorola Identification - Quality??
« on: June 23, 2015, 11:44:52 AM »
Found this and wondering if it's worth a buy?  More concerned with the music quality. It's a Motorola model number SK18M
What year?  Mono or stereo???
Any help appreciated.

Remember, its a small world out here ;)   That little gem is in lynchburg. They are asking 175 for it. Probably late fifties.I pitched them at a much loweer price but they must be ignoring me.

It's a 59, uses 4 EL84's , and with the included S18M speaker - yes it is stereo!

$175 is a great price for one that is in that kind of cosmetic condition and has the stereo speaker included!!

If that were over here on the left coast it would already be in the back of my station wagon!!

I expect that, given the tube compliment, it should sound quite nice once restored.

Motorola consoles are of high quality. That particular unit was a very popular design that I've seen in a number of configurations. They're always high end as that was part of their built by Drexel line. Very, very nice.

The tubes in it are worth more than that.
