Latest Phono Finds
« on: January 17, 2016, 11:03:09 PM »
Two record players followed me home today from a nearby antique mall.  Both were at prices I couldn't pass up.  One is an early 1950s Webcor fonograf portable in wine and tan color, and the other is an RCA Victor EY-3 45-rpm player.  Both are going to need restorations.

Here is the Webcor.  The cabinet isn't perfect, but it's a lot better than most portables of that era.  If I can find a wine colored sharpie I can make it look pretty nice.  The Webster three speed changer is like new with an extremely nice flocked platter.

I have the exact same Webcor suitcase player. I'll be interested to hear how well yours works. They put out a surprisingly full sound from the 3 tube amp.

Look at who had a record player exactly like this Webcor:  Marlon Brando.
