What model Magnavox did I get?
« on: February 28, 2016, 04:08:15 PM »
Just picked up this little player. Got a whole $8 in it and needs the usual.
Anyone know the year and model?
It has a place mat looking leather-like top. What's with that?
Missing the power/reject knob on the turntable.
Anyone have one?

Nice Conquest.  They require a full going over.  I'd have to say, next to maybe an old GARRARD....  conquests have serious solidified grease issues.  you will need to disassemble ever part and clean in mineral spirits or something similar, then reassemble.  Excellent TT once done.  Drop a EV-26 under that arm and you can pretty much play any album other than the thin stuff that came out in the late 70's thru 80's.  Someone will have a donor unit to obtain the knob you need.  I can't seem to hang on to conquests.  They vanish like 2 days after I rebuild them somehow.  All the docs to rebuild it are here on the website.  Good luck and don't get discouraged.  She will sound amazing when done!!

You have a "Duette"  in Oak finish, you can find it on page 20 of the 1957 catalog
