Altec 836A Lido's - not too shabby
« on: March 22, 2016, 12:22:54 PM »
So, I don't get out as much as I use to, but this past weekend I had some free time. So, I decided to stop at a couple of estate sales.

Sale one provided me with a one owner Altec system, including a 353A amp and matching tuner, paired with  an awesome set of Altec Lido's. The best part, they came equipped with the insanely rare 755b full range driver.

Sale two I was able to cut a deal with the guy who bought the console I wanted. It was a custom job mono with all Heathkit and a single Karlson cabinet. But the turntable was a unique beast, it is a late 50's connoisseur. I was cut a deal with the new buyer, since he was gutting the console anyways.

I will get some pictures posted, but just wanted to share.
Loud and Vintage.... any questions?

Boy you guys really have it rough living up there in the vintage audio wasteland of the Upper Midwest.   :P
