« on: June 02, 2016, 10:42:03 AM »
New here and to the vintage audio world, but looking to restore a late 50's RCA Victor SHP-9. Any help/advice is greatly appreciated as i embark on the restoration process!

Nice console! RCA did not make anything cheap and that is a real sleeper, lots of tubes and some big speakers in there.
First, test your tubes Second power it up real slow.
You will likely need to replace electrolytic and wax-paper capacitors.

See if you can get a better picture of that label, I cant read the tubes.
Tubes - Magical - Tubes

Hopefully this is easier to read. Forgot to mention the entire console is empty of all mechanical parts so I'll be looking for parts and/or fill the console with more modern equipment if it comes to it. Thanks for your help
