Mini Wire Cutters with "Lead Catcher"
« on: July 10, 2016, 02:08:52 PM »
What do you guys use to clip old component leads in amplifiers?  For several years, I've used a pair of mini side wire cutters with a "lead catcher" that prevents the leads from flying out into your amplifier somewhere.  I bought a pair of these about 7 years ago at Lowe's and they don't handle them anymore.  I was searching for mini wire strippers last night and ran across the exact same wire cutter.  Mine are as dull as a fro from cutting so many leads, so I ordered a couple of these cutters.  Well worth the price.  Get you a pair of these.  You can reach way down inside an amp and cut a lead in the tiniest of places.  You'll thank me for recommending it.

This type of mini wire cutter is worthless for getting it down into tight places.  I have a couple of these, but never use them.

These cutters are also extremely useful for cutting thick toenails.  I've been using mine for years for that purpose.
