Molex connectors
« on: September 14, 2016, 11:45:29 PM »
Last winter I tried to diagnose a friend's solid-state Magnavox console.  The right channel did not operate until the volume control was advanced considerably; the left channel worked fine.  It was an abrupt change.  I suspect that the tapped volume control has some issue, either mechanics or electrical.  She's got some small ankle-biter dogs that are nasty so I'd like to remove it from the console and take it home to check for continuity.

Problem is, it's got a bunch of those @#$&*!! Molex connectors tying it down.  I was worried about ones on the circuit board, fearing that I'd break something.  Any advice on removing the damned things safely?

They come off pretty easily, just wiggle them a bit and maybe insert a small screwdriver where they catch.
