RCA with strange base
« on: November 10, 2016, 07:09:26 AM »
I'm going to go look at this one tomorrow. I've never seen one with that kind of base.

Looks like a stand-alone speaker unit.

You're right. I didn't even see the other one. I hope they aren't overpriced. I'll find out tomorrow

I was 15 minutes early and the 14th person in line. They were hooked to a 70's looking Motorola. Nobody showed any interest in either the speakers or console. His record collection was what most people were after. The speakers were priced at $50 for both. The console was overpriced at $200.

I should get some more  pictures on Sunday. I hope it doesn't have Radio Shack speakers in it.

Looks like a good deal - 1960-ish vintage. I wonder where the head-end unit went tho.

I think they brought the speakers in from the garage for the sale. They had that white mold on them that I usually see on consoles that have been in the garage for a while. I looked for the head unit but the only other RCA thing I found was this single speaker .

That is probably a typical situation with separate components.  :(
The record player is first to become inoperative, then the receiver-amp so that big box leaves, but hey, the speakers can be hooked up to something newer and sound great.
