X-960 Popping Noise
« on: February 24, 2017, 07:43:14 PM »
I was hoping someone could tell me what value capacitor I would use across the changer switch to reduce the loud popping noise I get every time the changer switches off. It spoils the atmosphere when the last record played is Jackie Gleason's Orchestra while me and she are enjoying a glass or two of wine.    ;)

Most of the Magnavox micromatics have a .01 mf disc, rated at 1 kv I think.  Put it close to the connector

Thanks Motorola Minion.  I just saw one of them on my Imperial that I am currently restoring.  I was wondering if that might work.
