Zenith 2G tracking force adjustment help.
« on: February 25, 2017, 12:10:10 PM »
I have a Zenith made not V-M 2G changer with the clamshell 45 adapter But I cannot figure out how to adjust the tracking pressure on this? I made sure the back of the tone arm clicks back down in place but the arm is up like all of the weight is in the back. Anybody have any experience with one of these?

Are you sure the lifting rod is not stuck?  Seems odd that it would just stick up all of a sudden.

I replaced the cart. Someone had tried to put a Stanton mag cart in it and failed. So I got the right ceramic cart for it and the weight of it is not enough to keep the arm down.

Try contacting this VHF member who has rebuilt one of these Zenith-made clamshell
record changers:

He's a very nice guy.
I sent him the photofact for his Zenith clamshell when he was restoring it.
I didn't notice specifics for tonearm tracking mass adjustment in that photofact, though.

Thank you for the info. Guess I have to buy another wiring harness for this as well. This cartridge appears to plug in?

I found it and got it adjusted. Very tiny screw on the left. It was dialed back out of sight. I guess to compensate for the weight of the mag cart that was in it? Thank you all again.
