"rebuilt" is what the above post should say. I "rebuilt" the motor a few times.

I managed to find someone with both an RP 190 motor, and a VM 950 platter. I'm hoping this fixes both issues I have.

OK, replaced the motor on the RP190, and the motor seems to spin at full speed. However, the platter is only spinning at 5 rpm.
Any idea what the deal is?

Three possibilities come to mind.  (1) The motor isn't at full speed.  (2) Power isn't being transmitted  to the turntable--probably because the idler wheel is slipping.  (3) There's some excess resistance in the turntable or idler wheel bearings, causing too much load on the motor.  I'd be inclined to bet on (2), but it's really a matter of examining the device to see what's happening.  You'll need to think it through and inspect all the parts carefully.

 Thanks Chris.
Everything seems to be in order.
I am beyond baffled with this RP190.
Changed the motor, idler wheel, tension spring, and motor mounts. Still can't get the platter to spin past 15 RPM. What am I missing here?

Possession by evil spirits?  More likely, something obvious that will make you kick yourself when you figure it out.

I don't know what it is, but it's really getting me upset! I've had it apart at least 40 times!
