My Dad paid $3,500 for the '61 Chevy convertible that year but he got $800 trade-in on the '56 Chrysler so the net was $2,700.

I'm a little late looking at this post so congrats late Pat, it's beautiful!

Seeing your new toy reminded me of a Fisher that I saw in an antique store in Mesa AZ.  It was in a oriental cabinet with separate speakers.  So three pieces.  They had it playing, but only one speaker played.  I tried the volume and balance control but still only one speaker played.  I could not tell what Fisher component was being used, it looked like it might be a receiver.  It had a reel to reel and what I think was some kind of reverb.  Turntable was missing and there was a spot for something else.  They were asking $1495.00 for it.  Not sure if they knew what they had or were selling the furniture like they were yours.  Anyone interested let me know and I'll tell you how to find it.

Again great find Pat!

Gorgeous console, and congrats on getting it.

It has the exact same tuner as my Futura II, and it's very selective and works quite well.
