1966 Astro Sonic Fading Out after startup
« on: March 31, 2017, 05:57:14 PM »
Thought I was finished with my project.
Put it all together after recapping most of caps.  When i first power up the unit I noticed that after a few minutes listening to FM the sound fades slowly down (equally on both channels)  to min setting in about 20 seconds...then it pops back to previous loudness setting  and seems OK until unit is powered down and up again.   Should I clean the "loudness" contacts again?
Any ideas?  I did not redo the power board caps as I just focused on the audio caps.
Thanks
Owen

You might try putting a voltmeter on the power supply output to see if that's the source of the behavior.

Sorry to say but you need to change the caps on the power supply board.
