Most outrageous console?
« on: April 29, 2017, 10:38:31 AM »
Ampex Signature V from the Nov 1963 issue of Radio-Electronics, on display at the 1963 High Fidelity Music Show in New York City.

I'd love to have that pile of components on the floor, especially the video tape recorder- supercool!

OH YEAH, I almost forgot the price... A cool $30,000.

(That's nearly double the price of the uber-exclusive Ferrari 250 GTO streetable racer at the time)

Try this utility to see how much that $30K would set you back in todays' dollars.
