1968 Magnavox Collaro Turntable
« on: June 03, 2017, 04:33:58 PM »
I bought a 1968 Magnavox Collaro 4 Speed Turntable model W320 that hasn't been used in 45 Year's. It looked like it never was used no Wear anywhere real Clean & dirt free. So I Replaced both Rubber Wheel's & put a New Stylus in & removed all the Old Greese & put new White Lithium greese in & reoiled the Motor & here is the Trouble it goes through the cycling stages perfectly but when you put an Album on the Tonearm skips about the 1st four rotations on the Record & then starts playing so what is wrong with it? I put it into a Magnavox 3 in One Console. I had to put the Remote Solonoid on the Bottom of Turntable to work with the Phantom Air Remote Control that Part also work's perfectly with the Remote Control Box.
So what do I do to get the Tonearm to start at the Records edge?

Are you putting the record on the spindle so that the tonearm can tap it to check diameter?

If so, and you are still having this problem there is an adjustment for start position but I can't remember exactly where it is on this changer without looking at the manual.
