The Crawlspace Visitors
« on: June 11, 2017, 05:21:26 PM »
I recently had some animals take up residence under the house.  I had to call the trappers to come and get them.  The guy came back with 2 baby cats.  They had been using the area down their as their bathroom and they smelled things up quite nicely.  The trappers were to come back the next day to pump a load of good-smell in there. In the meantime I modified the door under there with a screen door spring and a magnetic latch so it works one way and shuts securely.  In the last couple of weeks I found they make powered ventilators for crawlspaces, all in the wrong size and too expensive.  I made one up using a gutted thermostatic vent and a muffin fan.  It has done a nice job so far, bringing down the excess humidity from this wet year.

I have a converted attic fan to ventilate the crawlspace here as well.
If it ain't broke, call me.  I can break it....
