There's Gold in Them There Hills
« on: July 18, 2017, 08:58:26 PM »
Last week a friend of mine told me he had seen a Magnavox stereo on "Facebook Marketplace". I had never heard of this site, but was quickly amazed once I checked it out. No kidding, there were no less than a dozen Maggies within a 100 miles of home. The owner of "The Castalla" was in Dahlonega, GA, and was giving it away. It's a beautiful town and a short road trip from home. So after a couple of days of cleaning an maintenance, here the two of us sit listening to Chet Atkins.
Now the only question is - which one do I go after this weekend?!

If you think Chet Atkins sounds great on that nice Astrosonic, try listening on an older tube console.  8)  Good luck, I hope you find an Imperial or Concert Grand next!
