A Scott (E.H., that is) Console
« on: November 18, 2017, 10:01:34 AM »
The Univ. of Michigan e-newsletter had a piece on Chip Davis, apparently a famous pop musician.  He was in the U-M concert and marching bands as a student.  The article had the attached photo of him as a child in front of his parents' big E.H. Scott console.  Here's a link to the article if you're a Mannheim Steamroller  or C.W. McCall fan. http://michigantoday.umich.edu/from-moog-to-mannheim/

I am a fan!  I loved C.W. McCall as a kid, and when Mannheim Steamroller came out, I could NOT believe it was the same guy.

Of course now, 30+ years later, when it's still some of the most common Christmas music you hear, I can't believe no-one's done anything better.

But it does make sense that Chip had a good radio to play with as a kid.  I'll have to read the article, thanks!
