Another Mathes console
« on: November 19, 2017, 07:59:16 PM »
Ok, I recently picked up this Mathes HiFi console and I'm trying to figure out what it is.  I think its from around 1959.

I read something about the Mathes Hifi logo being an early predecessor to the Curtis Mathes logo.  Does anyone know?
Does anyone know this model?
Thanks.

No clue on the model, but it is a beauty... Kinda jealous, but i want everything i see... absolutely a great candidate for a recap and daily driver.

Your supposition appears to be exactly on the mark:

I'm still surprised how plain the V-M 1200 changer is.
Many customers of V-M had their logo/name put somewhere
on the record changer.
Apparently C-M didn't at this point.

No matter, it sure is a pretty console !

Ok, so there isn't a model number on the unit.
I do have this paperwork, but can't find any information about the models listed on the sheet.
