Late late Maggie console 45 adapter?
« on: January 10, 2018, 02:21:26 AM »
Can anyone tell me what 45 adapter was supposed to come with the 1977 console's turntable?  I have a "front loading" console with the 7" of front/half-depth lift lid and extra-wide receiver with 8-track built into the same faceplate.  It has the final version of the Collaro/Micromatic changer with the short spindle and the slide-lever controls, just like a contemporary BSR.  It's a W748 according to the tag on the bottom and looks strangely identical to the earlier 1969 W801 mechanically, but with the controls moved to the right side.

Another thing I've thought about is replacing the short, removable spindle with a long spindle for taller stacks of 45s, like on the earlier Micromatics.  Is there anything I need to be aware of before I try this?

Thank you!
