Ken Curtis
« on: March 10, 2018, 05:19:06 PM »
I had the honor of meeting this gentleman one time.  I managed an auto repair shop in Scottsdale.  The man I worked for had worked with Mr. Curtis back when they were both younger.  This is the same Ken Curtis who played Festus on Gunsmoke.

Mexicali Rose is one of my favorite "cowboy" songs.  Ken Curtis sang tenor for the Sons of The Pioneers at the same time Roy Rogers sang with the group.  The man I worked for had done some stunt work on westerns, some of which Ken Curtis acted in.  Many people have no idea Ken Curtis was a singer.
If it ain't broke, call me.  I can break it....

I don't remember him singing.  Not a bad voice.
