Hi from Sandy Eggo
« on: August 21, 2018, 01:06:41 AM »
I too have many addictions, so apparently this is a good place to commiserate. I started collecting tube amps and receivers then went to solid state finally to consoles of which I have too many according to the Mrs. I started unloading some but still canít help but haul others home. As far as tubes go couple of Fishers, a Philharmonic which I just let go, a Warwick hybrid, a CM 4428, a CM Royal Dane, a 1961 Pacard Bell tank, a couple of Hoffmanís, a couple of GEís,a Columbia a couple of Silvertones. Solid State mostly Danish Modern Motorolaís, Rcaís ,Silvertoneís,Zeniths you get the picture. Recent finds,Fisher 400, Golden Bogen RP60, Scott LK-48, a couple of nice Marantzís 4270,2235B, Kenwood KR-8010, Sophia Baby SET El84ís a Scott 370R and now a Blonde Magnavox console 1ST205 H CG. A few sets of speakers too.
Thanks, feels good to get that off my chest, so now Iím unloading to get down to a couple keepers.
Iíll post some pics and model #ís tomorrow if youíre not sick of me yet.

Welcome, and we are glad we could be of some help with your addiction. Confession is always good for the soul.  ;)  Most of us have more than one.  Some collect Magnavox, some RCA, some Motorola, and some like me, collect a little of everything.  Sick of you yet, not hardly.  You fit right in....especially if you provide photos.   :)

PS.  If Sandy Eggo is a place, where the heck is it?

Welcome to the forum!
I'm great at multi-tasking.  I can listen, ignore, and forget all at the same time.

There are two Gregs on this page, Tim.  I did not get it either.  My wife had to explain it to me.   :-[

I'm the dumb Greg.   ;)

I'm with Bill--collect everything.  Except that he said a little of everything, and I cannot use that adjective. It's fun finding these things and seeing how the manufacturer approached the basic question of making noise.

The Packard Bell RPC25SCAN which I assume means Scandinavian as its Danish Modern is buried but heres one from the net that looks like mine,i also have the auxiliary Pac/Bell speakers. The gentleman I got it from bought it new in 1961 for his optometry lens grinding shop in Fullerton, a year later his wife said she wanted two more speakers in the other side or the showroom so he we down the street to the Appliance store where he bought the stereo and got the aux speakers. All this the year before I was born!

OOH, OOH, OOH, you're killin' me here!!! Look at all that!!! :o

You don't have too many, you just need more storage space to display them properly. You're among friends, we can work this out- no need for rash decisions.

That Packard Bell is IT. Gorgeous. I gotta have one, and since nothing like that shows up around these parts, I'll just have to build it... One of these days. As if my house and shop aren't cluttered enough with this stuff, there's one more future plan to file away in my brain, too!

BTW, nice BMW hiding behind the CG.
