« on: August 26, 2018, 08:23:31 PM »
Anyone come up with a working substitute for a missing spindle spring?
~~~and did you exchange.......
a 'walk-on' part in a war.....
for a lead role, in a cage?~~~
Would my S-600 parts changer maybe have one?  I'll look and get back to you if that would help.
There are apparently 2 designs used by the 600s. Of course all 3 of my parts tables have the other design! Ugh .. uses a different spring design.
What kind of spring it it--leaf, coil, whatever?  Most hardware stores will have a drawer of various coil springs.  You can usually adapt one by finding the right size and shortening it as needed.  Or post a photo and dimensions--I have a container of misc. springs out in the shop.
I pulled the bottom of a component Magnavox changer base to see if I could get a picture of the spring you are looking for.  My changer is a W607-03-00, but I think it has the spring you describe.  Hope this picture helps.  I had to put a piece of white paper behind it so the camera would focus (and show up).
