Sylvania SC74 tube model - PA
« on: September 06, 2018, 10:27:27 AM »
This one has an owner that will not get back to me but I have a similar model a year newer. Its only an hour up north in the mountains, worth a drive. https://harrisburg.craigslist.org/atq/d/sylvania-record-player-stereo/6654733523.html

These were all-tube, hand-wired and some (this is a single-ended 7868 ) had a push-pull 7868 output stage. That was a special Sylvania tube developed for Fisher and used in their 400 series

I always liked Sylvania.  I had a Sylvania receiver a long time ago, it really kicked butt.

Well Steve, this one got away. The owner moved out west but called me back to say he deeded it to the new homeowners, who are using it :D  He said he forgot about the ad and thanked me for taking notice.

The chassis and Garrard changer are the same as my SC541 (walnut contemporary in worse shape) I paid $40 for.

Make 'em an offer?  Maybe the novelty will wear off.
