Power Light Jewel
« on: November 01, 2018, 09:32:59 PM »
My Sylvania console is missing the little plastic jewel that the power on light shines through on the front. I'm assuming that this is unobtanium, but thought that I would put it out there.

Go to a hobby shop and see if they have jewels there.  They are used in craft work.  It works for Magnavox.  Michael's, Hobby Lobby, places like that.

The Sylvania pilot light jewels are of course much smaller than the other manufactures. I thought that a peg from a Lite-Brite might work but to big.

You could try using a piece of sandwich bag to wrap around the smaller jewel to shim it up a bit.  Take an Exacto knife, cut a length of plastic sandwich bag and wrap it around the stem of the jewel.  The clear plastic will let the light thru the jewel.  Good luck.

Bet you might find something here.  If the right size only comes clear, color the end.

Thanks for the advice but I picked a parts console and took the jewel from it. Story in this link.
