HS-968 Photofact Request for Motorola SK77WA
« on: April 03, 2019, 04:37:46 PM »
Does anyone happen to have a schematic for an Motorola HS-968 chassis?  I did not see in the downloads section.  The SK77 apparently came with either the HS-968 or HS-969.  HS-968 should be for the amp with 6V6 tubes, which is what is in mine.

If info I saw on Radiomuseum.org is correct it would be set 600, folder 11 from Oct 1962

Thanks!
Adam

Adam,  I do have 600-11, that is correct for HS-968 amp chassis. I will try to pull and scan tomorrow so you can start the weekend right :) The SK77WA was so popular a W2 model came out for 1963, which is in 656.

Thanks, Dave!  I really appreciate it. The temptation to play the new unit is tremendous and I'd like to get it recapped before I do something reckless!

Sure thing AC. I should have posted this one long ago. The SK77WA was a popular model.

The 3-channel amp chassis using 6V6 is essentially the same for all the top models, while variants used 6BM8s or 6BQ5s, sometimes with 6V6 pp only for the bass channel.

The fun fact I learned about the 1962 model was that the pre-amp was not a separate chassis like on the 1963 and 1964 models.

I did notice the innards of the SK77 seemed to be missing something compared to the SK53. Like 10 or 11 tubes!
