From The First Hour...
« on: June 08, 2019, 11:21:36 PM »
..Of the Jazz Program I posted a link to.  The first hour is called "Never To Be Forgotten", in which a performer or group of performers is singled out with examples of their works.  Last weekend had a very interesting recording.  This program helps me build my library.

I've never heard that.  Interesting piece and it's playing as I type.  It's also interesting that places like Kansas City were once innovative--early jazz developments there and in other non-coastal places.  And Indiana was the home of Gennett, wasn't it?  Now most are not exactly on the forefront of change.

Gennett was where Louis Armstrong was first recorded.  I like the music of KC and have a few collections of it's artists.  Chicago developed it's own sound as well.
