it's bit of stretch though.

I don't recall seeing one with that black face.

It looks like an interesting console.

I'm guessing that besides a Fisher President and a Magnavox Concert Grand that I should be adding one of these to my dream list?

Good luck in your search!

It's a 58-59 with the dual/mono amp setup. The black panel is correct.

After that, you'll be looking for an Ampex...

I wish you would have said something earlier.  I was in contact with a guy, referred to me by a friend, that has/had one for sale in your town.  I no longer have the contact info and I am not sure if they still have it.  I too want one, but this particular one is located in a basement and the guy would not help get it out.  I live on the other side of Lake Michigan and with the weather being iffy early December I passed.  Maybe you could run an ad on Craig's list under wanted?

Bill,

I think I know the guy you are talking about. I was in contact with him around September. At the time, I had way too much going on.

I contacted him yesterday, only to find out he gutted.... still has the electronics.

Loud and Vintage.... any questions?

Damn, you do have one of everything...

How about that monster that was in the '63 Nieman Marcus catalog with the first consumer camera and video tape machine?  Can't remember the name off hand.

I guess you really do have one of everything.  That's a nice looking console, and it has everything anyone could want in a console.  Please share some photos of what's under the hood when you get it opened up.

Interesting unit, nice cabinet, impressive looking black-panel controls, but must say that the open-frame output transformers are on the smallish side, as is often the case, as a lot of the cost goes into the handsome furniture. Such trannies aren't always a major flaw, however, the Heathkit AA-32 stereo integrated amp has similar looking small open-frame xfmrs but can actually sound great when using the correct speakers and considering the limited bass output. The proof, as always, is in the listening.
