need help on 60 cg volume motor.
« on: January 01, 2015, 10:10:27 PM »
I have a cherry 1960 concert grand I've been restoring. Everything has been recapped and gone through. Everything except the volume motor works.
The remote receiver does click when I press the remote buttons.

Tuner is 61-01-00

What voltage does this volume motor run on?

On this tuner a continuity check of both terminals shows OL or open.

I quickly grabbed another similar tuner and its ohm reading was about 45k

I have extra tuners to rob the motor but I want to make sure it works before pulling it out.

I'm assuming that the lube gets old dries then locks the motor. Then trying to use a locked motor burns it out. Just my guess.

Well I went through all my extra tuners one had a motor with 275 ohm reading. I used a small 12v supply and it moves slowly so I'm going to sacrifice that tuners motor and swap it in to my tuner.

I really would like to know what is the correct voltage for this volume control motor.

I'm sure I could find replacements for us in the future.

One of the more detailed manuals says its 10V for Foward or reverse.

I feel like I'm talking to myself lol. I hope this one day helps others.
