Magnavox/Collaro S600 Mounting Board
« : April 26, 2020, 03:27:15 PM »
I recently purchased a second S600 to install in a portable unit I have and unfortunately I didn't realize until much later it was missing the mounting board. Is there, by chance, a repository around of templates for mountings for some of these common turntables? I have an S600 in my console but really am avoiding removing it just for this purpose unless it has to be done. Just asking!

I'm not sure if there is a template or not, but it wouldn't take much to pop the changer out of the cabinet, lay a thin lewon type board, or cardboard down, and then trace the pattern.  Just a thought!

I know, as much as I hate to admit being lazy, that's about the size of it. It would be easy to redraw it here as a vector so thinking I may do that and find a place that can cut from my file and see how that works - I know it can be done with a saw but I'm curious to see how well that might work.

Were these sold as a branded, non-OEM stand alone turntable?

I've got Allied and Lafayette catalogs from the 1960s with stand-alone Collaro changers.

Chris, did they use the same model numbers in those catalogs?

I was just thinking maybe VinylEngine would have a template under a different name/number.

I may just pull the table out of my console and draw my own - if so I'll share it here when the time comes in case anybody else can ever use it.
